Notes from Steve
I did my third 5k for this year - I’ll do another one at least this year, the Santa run in December. I’m so … very slow, but my time is getting better. The first run I did was in Sutliff, Iowa in 1989. “The Sutliff Bridge 5K and
Fishing Derby”* - my time yesterday was the same as back then. So I haven’t necessarily improved, but it is 35 years later. (It was listed as the worst race in America in 1992 -- good times, good times).
This Insider will come out on my birthday (10-28-1964). I have already said multiple times that I’ll be 60, and lots of people have commented that it’s not so bad. And it isn’t; it really isn’t, but this year gives me pause. This is a milestone birthday, and it feels big. I need to set some big, hairy, audacious goals, but I’m not sure what they are yet.
Maybe I’ll take up the accordion. Perhaps I’ll start writing a book or take up tap dancing. I don’t know, but I do know that I won’t be stopped by any number … 60 is just a number. Here’s to another 60 years! (Clink)
