Notes from Steve
Happy Hospital Week!!!
I’m a lucky guy. Like most people - I’ve had my ups and downs, but honestly, being associated with Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics has never been a down for me. We’ve been in situations where we’ve lost money, entertained pandemics, had disasters*, etc. - but the team of ISH takes on every one with grace, humility, humor, and most of all love. How could I not consider myself lucky??
Over the past couple of years, I’ve talked about “the tribe”**. My opinion - the tribe is like a family; we take care of each other. I always say in orientation that we want our jobs to complement our lives. Our priorities should always be our families, our friends, our communities, our churches … I want ISH to be the place you come to laugh, to work, to feel comfortable, to feel loved.
I’m a lucky guy. I get to come to a place that I’m proud of. I get to work with people I respect and enjoy. I always smile when I talk about Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics. One week in May isn’t enough to celebrate you guys. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this opportunity.
*floods, staffing crisis, people driving into our buildings … lots of fun stuff.
**my biking tribe in Des Moines is IWOW+ (I added the + because “IWOW” stands for Iowa Women on Wheels … the “+” stands for “and a couple of randos”)
