Today is cold. I spent the weekend in Des Moines – my nephew’s bachelor party was supposed to be in Kansas City this past weekend, but the blizzard screwed that all up. Instead, we grilled steaks (in a blizzard) and had a great dinner party with friends from around Des Moines. It was a lot of fun. Turning lemons into lemonade.
My word for today is, “What the heck?”. Too cool for school and too cold for much of anything. It’s no secret that I am not a fan of winter. However, the days are getting longer, and January is halfway over, so there’s that. And … um … the sun is shining. Nothing else.
I want to thank you all for toughing it through this horrid weather: from Rob Cayler – rescuing a provider out in the storm to our volunteers braving the cold lobbies to greet our patients/families to all of you who planned ahead and stayed overnight … and everyone else who showed amazing determination and dedication to brave the weather and snow to come to work.
This is a tough business, and it takes really special people to keep it going. You all are the bomb!
