Notes from Steve
A friend was “picking rocks” out of one of their fields yesterday because when they encounter a rock with a combine - the rock damages the farm equipment. I thought … picking rocks sounds like a lot of work … hard, dirty work - definitely something I choose not to do. Then I thought, “What’s my version of ‘picking rocks’ in my own life?”.*
The picture the friend sent me had her smiling and saying the work was hard, but the workout was great. I focused on her dirty face and the work of picking up rocks … but she made it less horrible and found the silver lining. The pride of accomplishment outweighed the pain of the task.
I think of all the things in my life that could be better, smoother, and less damaging if I took the time to clear my rocks.
