Amy's Reflections
It is that time of year again when the kids head back to school, and we are all getting more settled into our routines. I loved seeing all the first-day-of-school pictures on Facebook and how much all the kids have changed over the years. One post shared a poem about how I blinked, and you grew even though I vowed to cherish every minute. This one hit me hard with the boys starting their senior year and Maleigha heading into her junior year. It seems to go faster and faster every year. I feel for all the mommas out there; whether you sent your babies off to kindergarten or college, each milestone is bittersweet. My wish for all the kids is that they are all blessed with roots and wings. May they have strong roots and always know where home is, but they also have strong wings to help them chase their dreams.
I was discussing our intern program with someone this week and sharing the benefits to the participants to be exposed to so many different aspects of having a real job. Reba Zeller does an amazing job with the interns and has really taken this program to the next level. I was able to sit in on their presentations at the end of their internships this year and got to see first-hand their excitement for the healthcare field and the work that each of you do every day. What a gift to be able to light that fire for healthcare and serving others in our next generation. For those departments that participate in the intern program please know you are helping these individuals build their roots and their wings. Thank you for making a difference.
