Amy's Reflections
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do." - Eleanor Roosevelt
We spent this past weekend in Cedar Rapids for a horse show. These weekends are filled with great lessons and opportunities, and this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt sums up the weekend perfectly. Maleigha’s horse, Limitless, has never shown before, and she faced her fear and took him in a hunt class this weekend. He did really well for his level of experience, and Maleigha was able to build her confidence with him.
I recently told another leader the art of leadership is making decisions with confidence. Often if you pick a direction and charge forward with confidence, there is nothing you can’t accomplish. This has been our theory at Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics for many years. This determination and confidence have led us to great achievements while expanding our services for our patients. We will continue to move forward with strength and courage to continue to improve care for our patients.
