Amy's Reflections

January 6, 2025

Happy New Year! Hopefully, everyone found time to remember and appreciate their blessings over the holidays. Whether that included time with family and friends or some time alone to regroup, I hope each of you refilled your buckets. For many of us, the holidays bring a mix of additional stress, joy, and obligations, and we forget to take time for ourselves. My wish for you is that you start 2025 with full buckets and a sense of appreciation for the important work you do.

I spent much of the holiday time as a patient or recovering at home. It was a tremendous opportunity to be on the other side of our healthcare field. Due to a back injury, I was out of the office for about a month. During this time, I was a patient at our clinic, emergency room, radiology, MRI, outpatient services, surgery, med/surg, and therapies. I can honestly say we are blessed with the very best, as each person I came in contact with provided exceptional care and compassion. Although everyone was exceptional, I have to shout out a few that really left an impression. Lexi, in Registration, is a warm welcome at 5 a.m. with a beautiful smile and a reassuring demeanor. Jenny in Lab - best blood draw I have ever had; seriously, I didn’t feel a thing. Matt in Surgery made me laugh and put my mind at ease going into surgery. Finally, Mayra in EVS; she is a delight and visited with me while cleaning my room. I only have so much space to write, but I have all of your names written down. Please know the difference you made in my care. Thank you for always being such a blessing to our patients and providing exceptional care.
