Wright Medical Center Three Times 2009 Press Ganey Summit Award Winner

Wright Medical Center is honored to be named a 2009 Press Ganey Summit Award winner.  This distinction was achieved by sustaining an overall rank above the 95th percentile in the Outpatient, Inpatient and ER databases for a least the past three years.  The Summit Award is one of Press Ganey’s most prestigious honors.  Amy Holland, Consultant with Press Ganey Associates, Inc, said, “It’s a fitting recognition of the commitment your staff has made to provide only the highest quality health care.”

The Summit Award is presented to facilities that have sustained a percentile rank of the 95th percentile or above, at the overall level, in each reporting period for three consecutive years.  Award winners are determined in July by reviewing the overall percentile rank of each database report within the three-year period to verify that the percentile rank has not dropped below the 95th percentile at any point.  The three-year timeframe for the 2009 award is August 2006 – July 2007, August 2007 – July 2008 and August 2008 – July 2009.

Categories for the Summit Award include: the Large and Small Databases for Emergency Department, Inpatient, and Ambulatory Surgery; the All Database for Outpatient and Home Health; and the Facilities Database for Medical Practice, with 75% of the facilities’ sites reaching the 95th percentile.

Press Ganey currently partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities – including 40% of U.S. hospitals – to measure and improve the quality of their care.  The company’s databases are the largest in the industry, and allow facilities nationwide to benchmark their results against peer organizations.  The Summit Award recognizes top performing facilities that sustain the highest level of customer satisfaction for three or more consecutive years.  The Press Ganey Summit Award is the health care satisfaction industry’s most coveted symbol of achievement bestowed annually.
