North Central Career Academy in Eagle Grove to offer Hybrid EMT Class
Iowa Central Community College will be offering a Hybrid EMT class at the North Central Career Academy in Eagle Grove.
This class is a combined lecture/lab/clinical course which has been developed by the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The course follows the January 2009 National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This class provides the student an opportunity to supply cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in the classroom, hospital, and pre-hospital setting. Instruction is related to patient assessment in areas of basic life support, cardiac arrest, trauma, and medical emergencies
The class, which will consist of face-to-face sessions, will meet every Wednesday from 6:00pm until 10:00pm, running from November 1st, 2023 through February 15th, 2024. Additionally, there will be face-to-face sessions on February 5th and February 12th, 2024, from 6:00pm until 10:00pm. Students will be expected to complete asynchronous online coursework in addition to the face-to-face class sessions.
