ISH Receives Alliant Energy Foundation Hometown Safety Grant
The Alliant Energy Foundation recently contributed $1000 for the purchase of Stryker Cot Extensions for the ambulance department at Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond.
These extensions attach to the existing ambulance cots and create an expanded surface area for larger patients while also ensuring solid handles and tie down points for the emergency medical staff to use. This improves patient safety and comfort during transport. This equipment also improves ergonomics and maneuverability of the cots for EMTs and paramedics, reducing physical impact and stress.
“These extensions will be a great addition to our ambulance service and will enable us to provide better care in a safer environment for both patient and responder. We are thankful for Alliant Energy’s support of our local first responders and their interest in the safety of our community,” said Ambulance Supervisor, Katie Schlichting, AEMT.
The Alliant Energy Foundation is dedicated to giving back to the communities that make up their service area. Their Hometown Safety Program’s mission is to help provide safety and protective equipment to organizations and projects that serve or protect the community.
