ISH-Belmond Receives Five Star Rating As A Top Hospital In Iowa For Physician Communication

Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond recently received a five-star rating as a top hospital in Iowa for physician communication by Becker’s Hospital Review.

The hospital was among 16 hospitals in Iowa chosen for this recognition.

394 hospitals were ranked as the best in the nation for their patient experience, according to CMS' Provider Data Catalog. 

CMS shares 10 HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures. The physician communication star rating combines data from three HCAHPS survey questions and summarizes how well patients feel that their physicians explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect.

The star rating is based on survey data collected from hospital patients October 2022 through September 2023. The figures are from CMS' Provider Data Catalog and were released July 31.
