Iowa Specialty Hospital Receives Five-Star Rating as Top Hospital for Nurse Communication

Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond recently received a five-star rating as a top hospital in Iowa for nurse communication by Becker’s Hospital Review.

529 hospitals in the nation were recommended for this distinction, according to CMS' Provider Data Catalog.  The hospital was among 12 hospitals in Iowa chosen for this recognition.

CMS shares 10 HCAHPS star ratings based on publicly reported HCAHPS measures. For nurse communication, data from HCAHPS survey questions are used. These questions summarize how well patients feel that their nurses explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect. The data was collected between October 2023 and September 2024, and released on Aug. 6.
