“New standards for the national neonatal resuscitation program require facilities to have this particular monitor,” stated Casey Howell, Iowa Specialty Hospital OB Leader.  “We appreciate First Citizens support of our facility and the safety of the babies born here.  It’s a positive for those choosing to deliver at or seek healthcare for their children at Iowa Specialty Hospital.”

The neonatal monitor that will be purchased is designed specifically to be used for newborns or infants with certain medical issues to monitor heartrate and rhythm, blood pressure, and respirations until the condition improves or the child is transferred to another facility for further care.

“For as many babies that are delivered at Iowa Specialty Hospital, it is necessary for the facility to have vital equipment, and we are pleased to support not only local businesses, but the health of our community,” acknowledged Susan Toftey, Assistant Vice President of First Citizens National Bank - Clarion.
