500th Baby of 2024
Iowa Specialty Hospital’s 500th baby of 2024, Cataleya Calles Marrero, was born on October 13th at 11:08 in the morning to parents Yanibis Marrero Martinez and Robin Calles Garcia. Baby Cataleya weighed 6 pounds 13.0 ounces, was 20 ½ inches in length, and had black hair and brown eyes. 
Iowa Specialty Hospital’s Maternity Center is located at its Clarion campus. “This year is looking to be a record one for the number of deliveries here at ISH,” stated Jenn Mewes, OB Leader. “As we move into the season of thankfulness, OB staff and providers are so very grateful to the families that allow us to be a part of this time in their lives.”
In 2023, Iowa Specialty Hospital delivered 594 babies, which was one of the most babies ever delivered at the facility in a year. They are currently well on their way to surpassing that total.
