Nicole Heifner - Daisy Award
Nicole Heifner notified me about a patient she was trying to help. Nicole and Carrie Reese tried their best to look into pre-op timing, surgery timing, the cost to the patient, etc., while also being overly accommodating. The patient did not understand why pre-ops were required within a specific timeframe and clearly didn’t understand her insurance/costs. (An ever-growing challenge our staff are burdened with more now than ever.) The frustrated patient even hung up on Nicole, but that didn’t stop her. She continued to try to figure out ways to help her understand and still bravely volunteered to call the patient back with a new solution, which I was confident was going to make the patient very happy. She truly went above and beyond. Even if the patient doesn’t tell her, Nicole deserves to know that we see her and recognize what an amazing nurse she is! We are lucky to have her on our team.
