Today is officially May 1st - May Day. There are so many ways to celebrate May Day, big and small! Today, people celebrate May Day by making flower crowns and baskets, planting flowers for the spring, decorating their homes in bright colors to embrace the change, nature walks, picnics, and enjoying the outdoors!
This also reminds me of showing respect for others. I remember when I was growing up, we used Styrofoam or paper cups with pipe cleaners to make little May baskets. We usually filled them with popcorn and gum drops. We took them to school to share with our friends, and after school my parents took us to a few houses that we had picked out and allowed us to put a special May basket on or by their front door. Depending on our age, we either wrote them a special note or had our parents help us with the special personal note. This really ties in with respect, and I have included 7 examples of ways to show respect:
My challenge for you this week is to share a May basket (or a thank you note) with someone to show them how much you respect them.
