As I thought about what I was going to write about I decided to google what national day is celebrated on May 17th. It brought up some options, and the one that stuck with me is National Pack Rat Day. As I look back when we were getting ready for our boys’ high school graduations, I was a little sad that my husband and I didn’t possess more of this quality. Unfortunately we are both people who tend to throw things away - probably too many things and don’t think about those items at the time and what impact they might have on either our boys or us at some point in the future.
This also makes me think of our patients and what we hear a lot. It’s the little things that we do going above and beyond that they remember and will talk about for a long time with their friends and family. The things that we do that are expected and part of our jobs are a given. Continue to set the bar high like we do every day with those little things that set us apart from others.
Have a great rest of May and remember to keep some of those “little things” that you may want to look back on and reminisce about years down the road.
