The weather has been changing with the leaves turning, mums are in full bloom, and it won’t stop raining (ugh). Let’s hope the rain stops soon so the farmers can get in the fields and combine the crops. With the changing of the seasons we need to take time to reflect on the prior season and the joy that it brought us. We are very fortunate to live in Iowa where we can enjoy every season and all that it has to offer us.
My two favorite seasons are summer and fall. My least favorite is winter and with this season I sometimes get in a funk and need to recharge myself. We are focusing on self-care and I attended a meeting last week that really made me sit back and focus on where I’m going at this point in my life.
As I have written in prior articles, our boys are both in college and we are empty nesters. The transition of being busy with kids at home, active in many events filling our evenings and weekends, to now having evenings and weekends free makes me nervous. This is a big life change.
I visited a group of ladies a couple of weeks ago who have a monthly book club and I am going to give this a try. I haven’t been much of a book reader in the past, but I am going to give it a try and see how it goes. In your personal and professional life please take the time to make sure that you are taking care of yourself…
