I’m next on the list! Just as Greg wrote, when I was asked to participate in writing in the Pinnacle, I also had some anxiety. However, we have a great team of Senior Leaders, and after thinking this over for a couple of days, this is a great opportunity for all of us to grow together even more as a team and challenge ourselves to grow in our roles.
I grew up just down the road to the east of both Clarion and Belmond in the small community of Latimer and went to school at CAL. I am lucky enough to work in this great organization with many childhood friends from my hometown. If you see some sad faces from that area in the next couple of weeks, please give them a hug. This is a bitter sweet time for those of us from CAL as they will be having their final graduating senior class this year. I graduated from CAL in 1990 with 19 people in my class. It’s amazing to me that CAL was able to continue on as long as they have independently except for sharing a few sports. I couldn’t be prouder of growing up in a community that showed nothing but love and support for everyone that you came in contact with.
I am so proud to still live in a community that everyone feels safe and secure in, and to work for an amazing organization for 21 years where we are just one big family. After college I worked in the banking industry both in Ames and in Clarion prior to working at ISH.
I am married to Steve Martin, who is a Manufacturing Engineer at Hagie Mfg. Co. in Clarion. We have two sons. Zach just graduated from Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School and will be attending NIACC this fall where he will be studying Agriculture and playing on the Men’s Golf Team. Alec is completing his junior year at Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School. In our free time we enjoy attending all of boys’ sporting events, playing golf, boating, spending time with friends and family, and have been tossing the idea around of picking up the sport of camping.
So here is my “About Me” and my family. Please stop by and see me anytime, and I would love to hear your “About Me” story too.
In the meantime.....Always stay humble & kind!
