My cat with the weight issue has been getting less food from me. We are working on a diet plan, and since he is hungry all the time he has actually ventured out of the living room looking for me to feed him. He hasn't been to the kitchen for a year and walked through twice last week. (He has PTSD from a situation where I tripped on him in the kitchen - hence no going to the kitchen, until he was hungry.)
Remember the movie "The Color Purple"? Oprah played a character that was smacked upside the head and became almost a zombie until it was time for her to wake up and take control. It was a hunger to get back into life and to become conscious and get going. She was needed. (My cat has come to the conclusion that his new famine is because I must have forgot to feed him... his kitchen reminders are akin to Oprah's waking up moment.)
Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the mundane that we lose sight of the bigger picture. We become like my large cat and zombie Oprah - dying in place. The beige existence... we become stale... in order to shake up things, we need to realize our place of importance AND that we truly make a difference. Sometimes the fight to regain our voice is hard, but with patience and strength we can and DO overcome.
For 2015, my goal is to wake up the sleeping giant. To push the envelope and develop all to their potential. This means being as efficient and as effective as possible. We will challenge the status quo and face our fears and sometimes it may be uncomfortable, but in the end we will be better.
