Notes from Steve

December 20, 2021

I’m pretty much set for the Year 2022.  Got my word (“refining”), set my goals, excited about the whole kit and caboodle.  I, on the other hand, am completely not ready for the next couple of weeks.  I blame it on Jordan and her need to take a honeymoon.  While things usually get done because she holds me to task, I feel like I’ve been drifting off and thinking about other stuff … not important things like shopping for Christmas gifts and preparing for the holidays.

No humbuggingThe weather is very non-Christmas like and maybe this is part of the problem.  I’ve been force-feeding myself holiday music … but even that isn’t doing it for me.  (I texted Nikki - she and her family live across the street from me - last evening and told her that there were pesky carolers out in front of one of the neighbors and I was thinking of taking the water hose to them.)  I really need to be better, I know this and I will …

I’ll start by making a list and I’ll definitely check it twice, because I’m usually very thorough and compliant with my lists.  And then I’ll just do and check it off until I’m done.  Plan, do, check and act (PDCA). I’ll “Baldrige” this baby (Ask Rayne.  It’s a quality thing; we will all know this deeply by this time next year.  I’m preparing.)  Bring on Christmas!

Also, caroling!  The hospital staff has been caroling the halls of Belmond and Clarion for many, many years.  All are welcome to join.  10am December 21, Tuesday in Belmond and 10am Thursday, December 23 in Clarion.  You don’t have to be a great singer to join in caroling.* Like Buddy the elf says “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.”  Join us if you can or want to and … Bring on Christmas!

*(I think Micki and Sarah are going to do interpretive dancing.)
