Iowa Specialty Hospital

Greg's Greetings

July 27, 2020

A couple weeks ago, my wife and I were invited to the house of some of our friends for dinner.  Also in attendance at the dinner were the parents of the wife of our friends.  As we were sitting outside enjoying the weather and catching up, we started discussing the need to be busy and always have a “project” to work on.  The mother of our friend (who happens to be a graduate of Alden High School much like myself) shared that her class motto was, “If you rest, you rust.”

These five little words hit me like a ton of bricks and I immediately thought about Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics.  Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics is not known for resting and for that we should all be thankful.

Darius Foroux shares that human beings are smart and we adapt quickly.  We may do new things but after a while we learn to accept the thing we were excited about and become stagnant.  Stagnation often means a lack of progress.  Helen Hayes captured the essence of progress and why it is important to keep moving forward when she said, “If you rest, you rust.”

Progress is about moving forward.  Success comes after that.  It is about getting better every day and moving forward.  If you want something, go after it.  To me there is no other option.  I am not here to rest or rust.  So, onward Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics go.  Who cares to join us?

Until next time……
