JOYFUL
What is joyful? According to Mirriam-Webster.com, joyful is experiencing, causing or showing joy: HAPPY.
So, the next question is, when was the last time you were truly joyful?
Many of us are trying to juggle many different things from home and here at work, and get caught up in the continuous cycle of the daily rush. We don’t pause to think about when we were truly HAPPY.
For me, since I knew I was writing about joyful, I have been thinking about this all week and what was my recent joyful moment. To be honest, and real with you, I didn’t have anything that came to mind recently. Therefore, I committed to being more present this week and finding that moment. For me, it came when we took Rylan to the Clear Lake Arts Center on Saturday to see her paper squirrel that she made in art which was on display. As a parent, I was so proud of her being selected as one of a few students from her school to have her art displayed. Yet, watching her find her art at the center and show it to us and our extended family who came, was truly a joyful moment. Had I not challenged myself to be looking for the joy this week, I am not sure I would have paused and soaked up this experience as much. Rather, I would have been thinking about emails, my to do list, etc.
So, I challenge you to find something in your week that is a joyful experience. I truly believe, we have to change our mindset and challenge ourselves to think and recognize the joy in moments. It can certainly be small moments, but we need to pause and reflect so we don’t miss out on all the little moments that could mean so much. I would love for you to share your joyful moments with me or in our Facebook group so we can all cheer each other on.
