Amy's Reflections

September 14, 2020

I got to watch Maleigha play her first junior high volleyball game this past week. It was fun to see how much they have grown as a team from when they were little. It was great to see her smile and enjoy being with her teammates. She is very social and the five months she was home for quarantine for the pandemic were really hard on her. She likes to visit like her father so she needs the social interaction to feed her soul. It is so important to know what you need to feed your soul. For some it is quiet time alone and for others it is the connection to other people.

As caregivers in healthcare, you are all very talented at knowing what our patients need. How good are you at making time for yourself and filling your own bucket? I have had the opportunity to round with several of our providers lately and it always makes me smile when they recognize the staff. Often we go through our daily life without thinking of the impact we are making on others.  It is always nice to have that impact be recognized and acknowledged. It is also a good opportunity to fill someone’s bucket. So, this week the challenge is to find someone that has made an impact in your day and acknowledge them. A simple thank you goes a long ways! Thank you all for the work you do every day! I am so grateful to be a part of this team.
