"A group becomes a team when all members are sure enough of themselves and their contributions to praise the skill of others." ~ Anonymous
Maleigha participated in a volleyball camp in the month of March, and then they decided to continue and play some tournaments in April. They had their first tournament two weeks ago in Lake Mills and they played a total of 12 matches. They are just learning the fundamentals, so it is really a match of the one that gets the serve over the net wins. However, the thing that I really appreciated was the teamwork and encouragement amongst these young girls. It didn’t matter if you made your serve or missed completely they were high fiving and positively supporting each other. It made me really sit back and appreciate what amazing youth programs we have in our community and what positive leadership these girls are exposed to in these sports. With all the chaos and negativity in the world around us it is nice to soak in these moments of true teamwork.
We are all members of varying teams in this game we call life. Sometimes we are the starter, and sometimes we are cheering from the sidelines, but we are always playing some role in the direction we are headed in our lives. I am so very proud of our Iowa Specialty Hospital team. Not only do you provide amazing care, but you have personal ownership in the journey we are on together. I know that we have rolled out some big challenges lately with regards to changes in reimbursement and the need to work leaner heading into the future. All I can say is WOW! You blow me away with your teamwork. Your ability to pull together and come up with solutions to any challenges we face. You are the reason we are so very successful, and more importantly why we will have long-term sustainability in this healthcare game. You are the Olympic champions of healthcare, and I couldn’t be prouder to be on your team!
