Amy's Reflections

April 13, 2017

“In every day, there are 1,440 minutes. That means we have 1,440 daily opportunities to make a positive impact.”~ Les Brown

Lately it seems that everywhere I turn there is some kind of negativity or drama. Whether it is with the kids at home or the meetings I am in at work. A wise person recently told me that negative drama tends to foster more excitement than positive drama. Unfortunately that is probably true and the very basis for gossip. Interestingly enough the only thing we can control is our attitude and what we allow through our filter. Is your filter set to negative or positive? Which messages are you letting through the most? Upon self-reflection, I know that I can always do better. With that in mind, I am going to work on identifying three things that I am thankful for to refocus my filter. I challenge you to find three positives for the day, the week, or the month. Give it a try and see if it doesn’t change your filter and the messages you are letting through.

I am thankful for:
•    the opportunity to impact others in a positive way.
•    the ability to listen with empathy to those around me.
•    the desire to want to make lasting change in the world around me.

This week I challenge you to keep trying to find the positive in your interactions. Have an awesome week and go change your message.

“Instead of hating, I have chosen to forgive and spend all of my positive energy on changing the world.”~ Camryn Manheim
