I have the pleasure of attending the Press Ganey conference this week with several members of our incredible nursing team. These ladies are a testament to the care we provide, and I am honored to spend time with them. I know over the years there have been several people who believed that we just wanted to win awards. The truth of the matter is that I really just want our amazing staff to be recognized for the incredible care they provide.
We initially were told we would not receive any awards this year because although our scores were high enough, we missed one month of uploading surveys which is one of the criteria. Needless to say that didn't sit well with us. I emailed the President and CEO of Press Ganey and asked that they reconsider because we have amazing staff that give their all every day for our patients, and they deserve to be recognized for the work they do. Thankfully they agreed, and we received recognition for inpatient, emergency room, and HCAHPS. Similar to last year, we did a lottery of staff based on Press Ganey mentions, and decided to bring them to the conference in recognition of their hard work and dedication. This week I want you to know how much I appreciate each one of you. Please never underestimate the difference you make every day. You are all award-winning individuals, and I am thankful that I get to be part of your journey.
