As a tradition for my family in August, I take each of my children back to school shopping. I look forward to it each year as it allows me to spend time with them individually and focus solely on them. I love those moments; they feed my soul. Each of the kids is very different in their interests and what they want to spend their time doing so it is fun to feed their individuality.
We spent this last weekend with Rick’s side of the family in St. Louis. It was the first time in over a year and a half that we have all been together. It was so nice to connect with all of them again and make memories as a family. There were 15 of us all together so we still had to split up quite a bit, but we were able to connect in smaller groups. It was also our first opportunity to meet our great-niece, Riley. She will be a year old in September, and she is such a sweet baby. My heart is full after a weekend filled with laughter and joyful moments.
My message for this week is in the midst of all the chaos in this world, worry less about what people think or say and focus on soaking up the moments you will remember forever. Spend your time and energy doing what you enjoy with the people that love and support you and you will be truly blessed.
