Amy's Reflections

March 4, 2019

I had lunch with Shaila today and she reminded me that they have only had two full days of school so far this month. You would think that the kids would be excited about this but they are definitely ready to be back in school. I can see the impact this weather is having on everyone as our moods reflect our frustration with Mother Nature.

I had a lovely conversation this morning with one of our stranded motorists.  When I asked him how he was doing this morning he shared that he is always at 200% and that there is always something to be thankful for. I was drawn to his inner light. He shared that he spent 9 years in drug rehabilitation and had been part of gang in his past life but he now is a motivational speaker and attempts to help people see their path. We joked about the weather and agreed that God has a plan for each of us and that when we don’t follow His plan than He gently nudges us along the path. I can honestly say that my day was brighter for having met this gentleman.

You are in healthcare because it was your calling and you were destined to do great things. This is your path and you are changing lives daily. Please never underestimate the difference you make.  A HUGE thank you to our incredible staff that took amazing care of our patients during this crazy blizzard. You are incredible group and we are grateful that you are part of this team. Soon the weather will be warmer and spring will be upon us. Until then, continue to let your inner light shine through in all you do!
