Amy's Reflections

March 16, 2020

Shaila was home for spring break last week and it was so nice to have all my babies under one roof again for a short period of time. With all the precautions for COVID-19 she will be home a little longer as they move to on-line classes. I know all this COVID-19 is enough to make us all crazy but please be respectful of the ever changing precautions and know that we are trying to make the very best decisions for everyone.

With Easter right around the corner I am reminded of our family traditions. One of those traditions is to participate in Lent by giving up something. This year I gave up pop. I have had more water to drink in the last two weeks than I have in the last year! I am hopeful that after Lent I can continue to stay pop-free. Traditions can be a great mix of holding on to the old and coming up with the new.  In healthcare we work in a constant changing environment with a lot of innovation. Sometimes it can seem like very little stays the same. Our standards of behavior are rooted in tradition and are our guiding principles. These standards are what set us apart from other organizations and make the patient experience personal. So this week continue to role model the standards of behavior while practicing good hand hygiene. Thank you for all that you do to care for our patients every day.
