Amy's Reflections

May 11, 2020

I have been working on cleaning out my attic. I decided to use my time wisely while I am home and not running to a million kid activities. It has been very eye opening to say the least. We have a huge dumpster that I am slowly filling up which is an amazing feeling. I have found a few buried treasures up in the attic like Shaila’s original birth certificate and some cards from my mom that mean the world to me. Rick and I may have some hoarder tendencies as I have found that we like to keep stuff.  The process of cleaning out the attic has been very therapeutic for me. In a time when I have very little control over anything I am dominating my attic! J

What are you doing to help you find your balance in this crazy time? It can be a simple thing like cleaning out a drawer or organizing your closet or something bigger like starting a new exercise routine. Whatever it is I encourage you to take some time for you and find something that fills your heart with joy and happiness. As I have been focusing on my mindset I have been trying to find one thing that I am grateful for each day. I am so grateful for the extra time with children right now. We used to have tea parties when they were little with my grandmother’s china set and that was one of their favorite memories. Last week we pulled the china set out of the cupboard and we have started having tea parties again. My challenge for you this week is to find one thing that lifts your heart and your mind and do it. I would love it if you would share your story with me. I wish you a lighter heart and a happier soul this week.
