Amy's Reflections

April 27, 2020

It is easy to feel like your emotions are all over the place during this time because let’s be honest, our emotions are all over the place. I find that I have been quick to shed a tear and quick to anger lately. These are two very different ends of the emotional spectrum but completely normal reactions based on current circumstances.  Give yourself some grace and let your emotions flow. I am not sure if you saw the movie Inside Out but the main characters were Anger, Disgust, Fear, Joy and Sadness. Pretty much sums up any given day for me right now and guess what? That is okay! Our emotions are a huge part of how we create memories. If you think back to some of your strongest memories, I bet they are tied to one of these emotions.

As you work closely with each other please keep in mind that everyone is at a different point on the emotion spectrum. Give grace to each other and kindly remember that we are all here trying to do our best to keep each other safe and our patients cared for to the best of our ability. Find comfort in the fact that we have one of the strongest teams in the Country and we are doing incredible things daily that provide extra protection to our team members and our patients. So, as you approach this week do so from a kinder, softer place. Be gentle with each other as we are all in the same storm but we are currently in different boats with different stressors. That random act of kindness, positive comment or heartfelt thank you may be just what we need to refill our sails.
