Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush. ~ Doug Larson
Our big excitement at our house this weekend was the hatching of one of the cockatiel eggs. The kids are thrilled to have little baby birds. I am hopeful that the parents know what they are doing because we are definitely out of our league on this one. This will definitely be a learning opportunity for our family, and hopefully if we figure it out, we will have cockatiels to adopt out later this year. This is a great reminder that spring is definitely on its way.
It is nice to see the sunshine and warmer weather even as we navigate recovering from the time change this weekend. I love this time of year as it inspires me to clean. It is that time of year to get a dumpster and clean out the garage, attic, and house from all the clutter that we have accumulated since last spring. Imagine if we cleansed our lives in a similar way. What if we effectively threw away all the negativity we encounter daily and replaced it with all the good things going on around us? Imagine how that would change our daily outlook.
So, your challenge for this week is to take a few minutes each day and let go of the negative interactions and focus on the positive interactions. In doing this, hopefully we will all enjoy the sunshine just a little more!
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~ Anne Bradstreet
