Amy's Reflections

February 16, 2017

“Spend as much time as possible with positive, joyful people and as little time as possible with negative, unhappy people.” ~ Molly Friedenfeld

It has been so nice to see the sun the last few days. I love how just seeing the sun can improve everyone’s mood and put a spring your step. These warmer temperatures and sunshine definitely put us all in the mood for spring which is just around the corner. I have recently tried to reflect on the “weather pattern” that I am portraying to those around me. Has my mood been more dark stormy clouds or have I been giving off more of the light, sunshine perspective. I like to think I am more a ray of sunshine, but know that there are definitely days that I am far from achieving that goal.

Self-reflection is incredibly valuable tool for personal growth and definitely something that we as human beings should do on a regular basis. If something isn’t going the way you want or you are frustrated with someone else it is always a good idea to start with yourself. In these situations I try to reflect on my part in the problem as well as my part in the solution. The only thing we can really control is our own response to any given situation or issue. Happiness begets happiness and misery begets misery so we should choose our attitudes wisely. This week I challenge you to spread more sunshine and I promise you will be happier for it.

“Spread a little sunshine wherever you go.” ~ Heather Wolf
