Happy New Year! Hopefully 2019 is off to a great start for you and your family. Each new year brings us change and growth and I am always excited to see what the new year brings. At the same time I am always a little sad to see the end of another year as well. Often change comes with a mixture of emotions. We can embrace the changes and see them as exciting and challenging or we can resist the changes and fight the process. Little secret for everyone, the changes usually still occur whether you pick the path of embracing or fighting. One is a lot easier on you than the other.
Someone asked me yesterday if I was starting to get ready for Shaila's graduation. That pretty much flipped me into a moment of panic. I am so excited for her and to see where this next chapter in her life takes her but I feel like I am way behind in my planning and it will be here so fast I won't be ready. So any of you super planners out there that have checklists and timelines to share send them my way. I always feel calmer when I have a plan.
I believe 2019 will include a lot of changes for Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics. Our theme this year is "Imagine" and I can't think of a better word to lead us into this new year. So, here's to letting go of the old and embracing the new. May you all choose to embrace the changes coming our way as I believe it is truly an incredible and exciting time to be in healthcare. My wish for you this year is that you are able to find tools and resources that assist you with the changes and opportunities that you face in 2019.
