A Word from Cindy

Where did the summer go?

As the Iowa State Fair winds down, vacations come to an end, and school begins, I think about how quickly summer seemed to fly by.  In our family our summers are spent participating in Farmers Markets, going to county and state fairs and trying to get a little relaxing time in at the lake.  It seems that each year this time goes by so quickly.

I did get to spend a few days at the Iowa State Fair with my granddaughter. Even though she is only 15 months old, she thoroughly enjoyed the fair.  She loves the animals, played in the dirt, and milked the cow at the Little Hands on the Farm. She even enjoyed her first corn dog.

As time goes by so quickly we need to take time to enjoy life. Spend that extra 60 seconds with the scared patient; give that extra encouragement to the new staff (after all we were all new at one time). Tell a coworker how much you enjoy working with them.  Send a thank you note. Make that phone call to a friend or family member you have not made time for.  Just a few suggestions that will make you feel good and certainly will make someone else’s day better.

I ran across this quote and how true: “It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.” Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I hope you did enjoy some of the little things this summer.
