This last Wednesday we celebrated the incredible HCAHPS scores that Iowa Specialty Hospital has been able to achieve and maintain for the last 12 months. Achieving over 90% on all 11 categories for an extended period of time is amazing. This credit goes to each and every one of you. Remember HCAHPS is a hospital survey that our patients complete to tell us how we are doing with our Nurse and provider communication, responsiveness of staff, communication about medications, discharge process, cleanliness and quietness, overall rating of hospital and willingness to recommend. This information is used by CMS for the hospital star ratings and as a quality measurement
for value based care.
We have also experienced our accreditation survey for the hospitals in the last few weeks. This year our survey was amazing. We had a total of 7 non-conformities (areas of opportunities). This low number validates what the patients are telling us in our surveys; that you are doing an amazing job with the service and quality of care you are providing to our patients. Our surveyors gave us a gold stamp of approval.
So I hope you enjoyed the celebration, pat yourself on the back, congratulate your co-workers, and take a minute to reflect on what an incredible hospital system we have.
