Last week we had the opportunity to virtually host DNV surveyors for our annual survey. This year was our second year of a virtual survey. Over the last year, we have all learned how to maneuver the zoom meeting world. Sharing and reviewing documents, giving tours of the facilities, having conversations about processes, verifying that we are compliant with the NIAHO standards and CMS regulations, all through the great technology that we have become so familiar with. This annual survey not only shows that we are following the regulations, but allows us to show case all the great things that our team has accomplished over the last year. I know at times it feels like all of our time has been spent on Covid-19, but there are many things that the surveyors have shared with us that are noteworthy. When a surveyor tells us something is noteworthy, they are telling us that we are doing something very well and they want to reward us for those things.
During the visit this year, we have learned about some opportunities (non-conformities) that we need to do better, and we will. Our teams will put action plans into place and rise to the top to overcome these challenges.
There were so many good things shared; here are a few of the surveyors’ noteworthy efforts:
These are all things that as an organization we should be very proud of. Survey week is always a little stressful, but once again everyone gave it their best, and it showed. Thank you all for being part of Iowa Specialty Hospitals and Clinics and doing such an amazing job each and every day!
