During the last few weeks, I had to relocate temporarily as my office was under construction for the new HVAC. During that time I had to clean off my desk and bulletin board. After being in the same office for a number of years, you find things you have forgotten about. As I was cleaning I came across a quote that I had saved a while ago. It seems to be very fitting at this time. The author is unknown, but it says:
But most of all BE THANKFUL
The Pandemic has been difficult; it has made us question if healthcare is the right place to be. We have felt hopeless, frustrated, exhausted, and angry at times. But through all of these emotions our team at ISH has risen above the emotions. We have continued to give great compassionate care and great service with continued growth. That is amazing.
So today I challenge you to be kind, be thoughtful, be genuine and be THANKFUL. If we do these, we will ensure that our patients will continue to receive the great service and care that we are known for. It will also help you feel good about yourself; studies have shown that it can help reduce stress and burnout. What a powerful thing we can do for ourselves, our families, our patients, and our co-workers. So today I am THANKFUL for all of you for being part of our awesome team at ISH.
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.”
