A NEW YEAR AND A NEW DECADE: as we get older the years seam to go faster and the Holidays even faster. This year Christmas was so fun having our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter to spoil. One thing she was fascinated by was the Grinch. At first I was not sure this was what I wanted her to be excited about, but her eyes would light up when she would talk about the “good Grinch”. She also told me there was a scary Grinch too and only wanted to see the “good Grinch”. As we enter this New Year let’s remember there are always more than one way to look at things. Let’s assume the good in everyone and keep patients at the center of all we do. If everyone would do these 2 things what a better environment it would be.
The New Year brings with it the opportunity to set goals. I must admit I did not do a very good job meeting the wellness targets last year, so one of my goals is to do better job with wellness in 2020. We all probably define Wellness a little differently so I thought I would share how The World Health Organization defines wellness:
"...a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." - The World Health Organization
We work for a great organization with some very talented, knowledgeable and amazing people. If we all try to do better at Wellness, we will continue to see our organization grow and thrive.
