The COVID-19 pandemic has caused numerous changes to what we previously considered normal life. However, one thing that hasn't changed is the need for blood donations. Now as many facilities resume elective surgeries, the need for blood products is even more important.
We would like to encourage you to schedule an appointment to donate blood at LifeServe or a blood donation facility near you. LifeServe is currently requiring scheduled appointments to meet social distancing guidelines. Those without an appointment will be denied. In addition, they are asking that all donors wear face masks. If you do not have one, LifeServe will provide you with a mask. Your temperature will be taken, but it's also encouraged that you take your temperature at home. Donors with a temperature of 99.5 or higher should reschedule their appointment for a later date. LifeServe wants to ensure everyone's safety and has implemented other safety protocols for donation sites.
LifeServe holds blood drives in Clarion the first Tuesday of every month from 1:00 - 6:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church (219 1st St NW). You may also visit lifeservebloodcenter.org to find other donation opportunities.
