Four new Stryker TruRize Recliners were purchased for use on the inpatient nursing floor. These specific recliners provide better hip and knee alignment for patients who have had hip or knee surgery. In addition, the recliners offer a powered lift option to assist patients with standing when standing is difficult. Transfers from the chair to hospital bed are made easier for both the patients and staff as well.  In the case of an emergency, CPR can also be performed on the patient while in the chair, saving valuable time.

“We appreciate the donation that the Wright County Charitable Foundation made toward our new recliners,” shared Robyn Paulsen, Director of Nursing. “Patient satisfaction is very important at Iowa Specialty Hospital, and played a huge role in the purchase of these chairs.  Patients who have been able to experience them have been pleased with the comfort.  It’s wonderful that we can fulfill patient requests while meeting safety requirements.”

The mission of the Wright County Charitable Foundation is to foster and promote private giving, to strengthen volunteer and nonprofit service providers, and to improve the condition and quality of life for the citizens of Wright County on a sustainable basis.
