New INR Clinic Announced-Clarion

November 15, 2019

Iowa Specialty Hospital is pleased to announce a new service taking place at the Clarion campus for anyone needing assistance in monitoring their INR numbers.  The INR Clinic will take place every Wednesday morning from 8:00-11:30 a.m. next to the Lab.  You must call your provider to make an appointment and check-in at the ER-Outpatient registration when you arrive.

INR stands for International Normalized Ratio. Our Pharmacists measure a patient's INR level during a PT-INR test. The PT stands for prothrombin time. The test measures how much time it takes for a patient's blood to clot. This test ensures that patients are receiving the dosage of blood thinner that is right for them.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer our patients this clinic at a regularly scheduled time,” stated Lance Fischer, Pharmacy Leader.  “It will be a win for our patients to know they can get in and get those INR numbers checked and make sure their results and dosage are right on schedule.”
