Visitor Restrictions in Place; Non-Essential Appointments On-Hold

March 16, 2020

Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics continues to monitor the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation closely.  They strive to provide the best care possible while doing what is best for the public.

As of March 13, 2020 the following restrictions have been implemented: Visitors to the inpatient, OB, and ER areas are limited to spouse, significant other, parents, step-parents, legal guardians, and grandparents.  In addition, only two visitors allowed per day per inpatient and one visitor per day per OB patient, no one under age 16 is permitted, and visitors must not have traveled outside the United States in the last 14 days.  Visitors must also be free from illness including, but not limited to, fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea, and vomiting.  Other restrictions are in place for hall walkers, coffee clubs, and other non-essential visitors.

Furthermore, Iowa Specialty Hospital & Clinics encourage patients, particularly those over the age of 60 or with chronic health conditions, to consider delaying non-essential clinic appointments until further information about the virus becomes available.  They will work with patients for medication refills and can address any issues by phone or via MyChart during this timeframe.

Iowa Specialty Hospitals & Clinics appreciates the public’s patience, understanding, and support during this time. They continue to strive to service the public while keeping both their patients and staff safe.
