Iowa Specialty Hospital To Celebrate American Heart Month

February 1, 2017

February is American Heart Month which brings attention to the importance of heart health.  During this perfect time to commit to a healthy lifestyle, Iowa Specialty Hospital’s Cardiac Rehab Department will celebrate with activities and an open house.

Heart in hand

The month will kick off with National Wear Red Day on February 3rd, which shows support for all women with heart disease.  Cardiac Rehab challenges everyone to wear your favorite red attire to show your support.

Next, the department will sell Valentine cookies February 13th and 14th.  Treat your family, friends, co-workers, and even yourself.  Funds raised will go toward t-shirts for cardiac rehab patients. Times include: February 13: Belmond Lobby 8:00 am - Noon and Clarion ER Hallway 12:30 - 4:30 pm; and February 14th: Clarion ER Hallway 8:00 am - Noon and Belmond Lobby 12:30 - 4:30 pm.

Finally, on February 16th, the Cardiac Rehab Department will host an open house starting at 12:30 pm in the Boardroom at Iowa Specialty Hospital Belmond Campus. A light lunch and short informational presentation on cardiac rehabilitation will be held.

To RSVP for the lunch or for more information on the activities and heart health tips, contact Trish Jensen at 641-444-5671.
