Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond, through its partner, Iowa Weight Loss Specialists, has recently been named a Center of Excellence from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP).
MBSAQIP is a joint program from The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) to advance the care of bariatric patients and ensure accredited surgical centers are providing the highest standards of care for all patients.
Dr. Todd Eibes states, “At Iowa Weight Loss Specialists, our first and foremost concern is our patients. While our current patients know of our high-quality standards, the importance of this accreditation is to ensure our future patients and referral partners know and understand that we perform our services to the highest standards and offer the best facilities and patient satisfaction.”
The process for achieving this accreditation was time-consuming, rigorous and included an on-site inspection of our surgical facility at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond. Every staff member of the Iowa Weight Loss Specialists team was involved ensuring requirements were met and expectations exceeded.
