Iowa Specialty Hospital Delivers 100th Baby of the Year

Family with baby Luke.Iowa Specialty Hospital’s 100th baby of 2015, Luke Robert Bernhardt, was born on May 1, 2015 at 9:45 in the morning to parents Mark and Emily Bernhardt of Clarion. Baby Luke weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 ¾ inches in length. Dr. Amanda Tew and Dr. Daniel Gabrielson both participated in the delivery.

“Being a part of the birth of any baby is a wonderful experience,” said Dr. Tew. “It’s one of the things I love most about being a doctor, and this was an extra special birth as this is their first child.”

Dr. Gabrielson also commented: “We have a great team who are dedicated to the safety of both mom and child.  It shows in what we do.  It’s an honor when a patient chooses us for their care, and it’s always exciting to be personally involved in bringing a new life into the world.”

Iowa Specialty Hospital’s Maternity Center is located at the Clarion Campus. “We are truly honored when a family chooses Iowa Specialty Hospital for the birth of their baby. We have an outstanding Maternity Center, and we love being a part of a new beginning!” said Casey Howell, OB Leader.

Luke is the first child for Mark and Emily.  Mark said the birth of their son at Iowa Specialty Hospital was an awesome experience, and Emily concluded by saying they are so very thankful for the care they received.
