385 Babies Were Delivered in 2018

January 2, 2019

Iowa Specialty Hospital ended 2018 with a total of 385 babies born at its facility. Leilah Florence Moore, born December 31st at 7:23 a.m. to parents Shyann and Desman Moore, was the 385th baby of the year. Baby Leilah weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches in length. She will join big brother, Oakley, at home.

The Moores chose Iowa Specialty Hospital for the delivery of their baby because they receive care from Dr. Emily Hill with The Gabrielson Clinic for Women, a partner of the hospital.

“We had a great experience. The nurses are awesome.  They are helpful and take the time to really get to know the patient. They answered all of our questions and went out of their way to help.  They also treated our visitors really well.  They definitely know what they’re doing.”

“We’re honored to have so many families choose us for the birth of their babies,” said Casey Howell, OB Leader.  “It’s amazing to witness our continued growth year after year.  While these numbers are fun to share with the public, the real focus is on each individual family and their experience with us.”

Iowa Specialty Hospital’s Maternity Center is located at its Clarion Campus. In 2017, they delivered 353 babies which was the previous record for babies born in one year at the facility.
