Iowa Specialty Hospital Foundation – Clarion has contributed to several projects at Iowa Specialty Hospital during their 2017 – 2018 fiscal year. Throughout the giving cycle, the Foundation has purchased two fetal monitors for the OB department, Stryker TruRize Recliners for the nursing department, and a high-low exam table and a pediatric Olympic smart scale for the Clarion Clinic.
The fetal monitoring systems track uterine and fetal activity, including fetal heart rate, all while allowing women to remain mobile during labor, providing more comfort and freedom. The Stryker TruRize Recliners provide better alignment for hip and knee surgery patients. In addition, a powered lift option assists patients with standing. In the clinic, the high-low exam table is beneficial for patients who have difficulty getting up on basic exam tables. The table will lower for patient and then rise for a doctor to proceed with the exam. The pediatric scale is used multiple times by staff to weigh infants while keeping them safe and secure.

In addition, their contributions help us purchase items timely, to keep pace with the ever changing needs of our patients while continuing to fulfill our vision for the future. “

The Foundation, formed in October 1982, was created to support the mission and vision of the Clarion hospital. Most recently known as the Wright Medical Foundation, as of 2016, the name was changed to Iowa Specialty Hospital Foundation – Clarion to align with the hospital’s name.
