Celebrating National EMS Week

May 10, 2016

Iowa Specialty Hospital-Belmond will be hosting an open house on Thursday, May 19th from 3:00 to 5:30pm to celebrate National EMS Week. The public is invited to join us at our Belmond Campus Lobby for cookies and coffee. An ambulance will be on display in the parking lot for tours. This is a great opportunity to learn more about EMS services and meet some of the EMS staff.

EMS personnel will be visiting Belmond-Klemme Kindergarten through 6th grades during the week to talk about EMS and bicycle safety.  Students of these classes will also participate in a poster contest.  A winner from each grade will be determined and awarded a new bicycle helmet.  All poster entries will be on display at Iowa Specialty Hospital - Belmond from May 17 - 21.

In addition an Open House designed for senior citizens will be held on Wednesday, May 18 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Leinbach Center.  A short presentation will be made early in the hour on fall prevention.  Cookies and coffee will be served. This event is open to all seniors in the community.

National EMS, or Emergency Medical Services, Week is May 15th through the 21st. Iowa Specialty Hospital is always looking for ambulance drivers, EMTs, and paramedics. If you are interested, please contact Brian Jensen at 515-532-9297 or Katie Schlichting at 641-444-5677.
